Re: Henry Onyekuru?
Have they shipped out lukaku?

And who has he signed for?

Eggbert Nobacon 11:52 Wed Jun 28
Re: Henry Onyekuru?
Lukaku and the annual 4m increase every team gets gives them almost 200k a week to use in wages

Plus they signed anew shirt deal a few months back

Trevor B 11:49 Wed Jun 28
Re: Henry Onyekuru?
tbh ive no idea where else they may have saved on wages, but clubs are allowed to extend their wage bill by 6-7m each season i believe under FFP rules, and any extra 'external revenue' can also be added onto the wage budget. this last part is where the likes of man utd etc can afford to have such huge earners, the likes of having a fucking official noodle partner all contribute.

goose 11:45 Wed Jun 28
Re: Henry Onyekuru?
I'm no FFP expert, but i believe they have a fairly similar wage bill to us? they've shipped out Lukaku who would have been their top earner - but they replaced him with what looks like 4 or 5 who will all be on a very decent wedge.

therefore the wage bill will increase considerably. to do this their revenue would have also had to have increased considerably........ has that happened?

Eggbert Nobacon 11:45 Wed Jun 28
Re: Henry Onyekuru?
they'll circumvent any FFP sanctions for making a loss by paying for all these transfers by selling their two best players Lukaku and Barkley this summer

goose 11:43 Wed Jun 28
Re: Henry Onyekuru?
although i am guilty of poking for at DS's love of a loan deal.

i don't get what you mean about circumventing FFP rules? why would they need to do so?

goose 11:41 Wed Jun 28
Re: Henry Onyekuru?
not by me. i cant speak for others.

if they pay £40m are we impressed or do we laugh that they've paid over the odds?

Trevor B 11:41 Wed Jun 28
Re: Henry Onyekuru?
goose

but when we bid below that it is perceived a club vales their player out we are penny pinching mate?

just look at the outrage on here when it was reported we bid 7m for onyekuru.

im not lover of the board, far from it., but the double standards exhibited on this board crack me up at times mate!

Eggbert Nobacon 11:39 Wed Jun 28
Re: Henry Onyekuru?
so they've bid 30m for aplayer who's club want 40m

isn't that EXACTLY what our board get criticised for?

goose 11:32 Wed Jun 28
Re: Henry Onyekuru?
the fact they've bid £30m for him is not a sign they are trying to sign him?

my point is, they know they are selling Lukaku but they wont let that go through until they've brought a few in. they've got a few quid to spend and are moving about their business fairly swiftly given that its not even July yet.

still dont know how they will circumvent FFP though.

oh and i still prefer southampton.

Trevor B 11:27 Wed Jun 28
Re: Henry Onyekuru?

they have been linked with Gylfi for as long as we have, not quite sure how being linked means they aren't messing around. The also bid 30m for him recently when Swansea want 40m, a bid that our fans would have called penny pinching if we had made it, much like they did when it was reported we had bid 7m for Onyekuru, the amount that Everton have signed him for.

As a posted said about two months or more ago (think is was griffin or trundle) Everton are the new Southampton to WHO.

goose 11:23 Wed Jun 28
Re: Henry Onyekuru?
Everton today linked with Keane & Sigurdsson. Fair play to them, they arent messing about.

speaking of fair play, how are they managing to get around FFP with all these new players? i would imagine their wage bill is similar to ours and they've only shifted Lukaku.

Trevor B 11:18 Wed Jun 28
Re: Henry Onyekuru?
Erm, that's not what you said at all:

"We will pull in nearly 250 million in TV money alone from this season and next season. 250 million."

You stated 250m from this season and another 250m from next season. Not only do you need to read what I've written, but also what you've written ha-ha!

OK cheers

Re: Henry Onyekuru?
Trevor - I'm talking about two season's worth of TV money. We got 120 million last season and will get similar this season, assuming we don't finish bottom.

Trevor B 11:14 Wed Jun 28
Re: Henry Onyekuru?
FC

Everton, who seemingly are loaning him to Anderlect for at least a season.

Re: Henry Onyekuru?
I tried to shag Pamela Anderson once. Well I say try I've thought about it a lot but she knows fuck all about it and would never entertain me.

Pretty much a mirror of our interest in Lukaku years and years ago.

Far Cough 11:10 Wed Jun 28
Re: Henry Onyekuru?
Cheers Trev, has he signed for anyone then?

Trevor B 11:09 Wed Jun 28

Work permit denied.

Trevor B 11:08 Wed Jun 28
Re: Henry Onyekuru?
Baggins

maybe if you read what I wrote you will have noticed that I agreed that is what we SHOULD be doing?

Not sure where you get 250m from for tv money though mate, chelsea only got 150m all in from the PL central funds for winning the league last season.
